Game of the Week: San Diego Chargers at Denver Broncos - First place is on the line in the AFC West. The Chargers have the top scoring offense in the NFL averaging 33 points per game and the Broncos are the top scoring defense in the conference allowing only 12.3 points per game.

I'm taking the Chargers to pull off the upset on the road.

Game Not Worth Watching: Detroit Lions at Arizona Cardinals - For the second week in a row the Lions are featured in this section and for the second week in a row they will lose to a really, really bad team.

Worst Team in the NFL
The Arizona Cardinals are 1-8 on the season and rank 29th in scoring offense and 30th in scoring defense. They will have the opportunity to let go of the title as the NFL's worst team this weekend when the Detroit Lions come calling.

Why not Rutgers?
Before the their upset over Louisville there was talk that the Cardinals, after beating West Virginia the week before, would be in the BCS championship game if they got past Rutgers and ran the table.

So now that the Scarlet Knights are the Big East's only undefeated team why are people saying that the conference's chances of a national championship have died? Rutgers knocked-off Louisville and if they run the table they could throw a huge monkey wrench into the BCS.

If you are a BCS hater then you need to become a Scarlet Knights fan.

Joe Pa Takes One for the Team
I'll admit that I am not in any way a Joe Paterno. I think that, like Bobby Bowden, his best coaching days are far behind him and he is holding the Penn State football program hostage. However, whenever a 79 year old guy takes a tumble like this, has surgery the next day and still plans on being on the sideline this weekend you have to give him due credit.

Paterno's injuries were a broken shin bone and torn knee ligaments.

Mountain Climbers
I've been on the West Virginia band wagon since last season. I picked them to play Ohio State in the BCS Championship game but Louisville brought all of that to a screeching halt Thursday night with their 44-34 win over the Mountaineers.

Game of the Week:
Indianapolis Colts at New England Patriots - This is the second week in a row the Colts have been featured in the Game of the Week. I am expecting a different result this week however. I know that at the pro level you are not supposed to have "let down" weeks but playing in New England the week after playing in Denver is a death sentence.

I'm going with the Pats to win the best Sunday night match-up of the season to this point.

Game Not Worth Watching:
Miami Dolphins at Chicago Bears - In 1985 the Miami Dolphins were the only team to beat the Chicago Bears who could have been the best team of the modern era. No chance of that happening Sunday.

The Bears will destroy the Dolphins and continue what has been a miserable season in South Florida.

Worst Team in the NFL:
Is it time to put the Pittsburgh Steelers in the mix here?

Can't Say We Didn't See It Coming
Well, maybe not to Oregon State but I think we all knew that USC was going to lose this season. This isn't the same Trojans team that we have seen the past three seasons and I'm not just talking personnel. They have struggled several times this season and just don't have the ability to put teams away. To use the famous pun, "they lack that killer instinct."

You almost get the feeling with this USC team that they need to figure out that they are not going to win just because the name on the front of their jersey. They need to go out on the field and earn it!

Mountaineers Moving Up!
Thanks to the USC loss and another impressive victory on their part the West Virginia Mountaineers are the number three team in the most recent BCS Poll giving them a legit opportunity to be in the BCS Championship Game.

Game of the Week - Indianapolis Colts at Denver Broncos - Denver is rolling on defense allowing just over a touchdown per game (7.3ppg) but will face a strong threat in Peyton Manning and the Colts. Indy has the league's second ranked passing attack (261.8ypg) and is fourth in the league in scoring (28.5ppg).

I'll go with the Colts in a game that should make for some great television.

Game Not Worth Watching - Arizona Cardinals at Green Bay Packers - The Cards are 0-3 on the road and the Pack are 0-3 at home. Something's got to give! Too bad that only the states of Arizona and Wisconsin will be in front of their televisions to witness it.

None the less, I'll take Favre and the Pack to win their second in a row after beating my Dolphins last weekend.
