Josh McRoberts...the Player

Most might know Josh McRoberts as the stiff from Duke who probably should have declared for the draft after his freshman year and before the college basketball viewing public realized that he stunk.

However "Big Josh" should now be known for something else.  The man who let down the legions at Cameron Indoor with his lack of game on the court has shown some quality work off the court. Click on the link below and you will be just as surprised as I am.  This just proves my theory that if you are a professional athlete.........anything can happen for you.

"All That Statistical Stuff About Nick Fazekas"

"As the thirty-fifth pick approaches, Erik once again leans into the speaker phone.  If he leaned in just a bit more closely he might hear phones around the league clicking off, so that people could laugh without being heard.  For they do laugh.  They will make fun of what the A's are about to do; and there will be a lesson in that.  The inability to envision a certain kind of person doing a certain kind of thing because you've never seen someone who looks like him do it before is not just a vice.  It's a luxury.  What begins as failure of the imagination ends as a market inefficiency:  when you rule out an entire class of people from doing a job simply by their appearance, you are less likely to find the best person for the job."-Moneyball

Remember in college when you were hanging out at the bar and some good-looking girl invited you over to her dorm room at 2 in the morning to "watch a movie".  You were pumped because you thought by "watch a movie" she meant "get down to business".  You handed out self high-fives all the way back to her dorm room with "Humpty Dance" playing in your head.  Then when you got there you found out that she actually wanted to watch a movie and a complete and utter disappointment ruled the night.

The Most Disgraceful Officiating Job In NBA History

If David Stern does not suspend the three officials who destroyed the fourth quarter of last night's Utah-San Antonio game then he has less testicular fortitude than I thought he did a week ago (and that's tough considering I think he had the equivalent of a pair of raisins swinging between those legs back then).  The Steve Javie-led crew robbed the Utah Jazz and the basketball viewing public of what should have been a great fourth quarter.

I just heard the impending trade between the Golden State Warriors and Indiana Pacers and I am completely flabbergasted by Chris Mullin's stupidity.  I've said it once and I'll say it again, the Golden State Warriors would be better off with a)putting Billy Beane in charge or b) letting fans vote on trades online at the San Francisco Chronicle's website.

Give A Sportscolumn Writer Some Love

College Sports TV is running another story I wrote.  I'm previewing two major conference water polo championships.  I just want to get some clicks on the story so they can see that my writing for the site is bringing interest.

(On a side note, you should have seen me writing this.  It took about 8 hours, 6 Yuenglings and a very reassuring laptop.)
