It seems that these days, winning is second nature on the south side of Chicago.  Jose Contreras wins every time he is out there.  Jim Thome and Paul Konerko seem to produce offensively almost every time they take the field.  Yes, the White Sox seem to have that winning attitude.

Of course, the same cannot be said for Ozzie Guillen and his incredibly big mouth.  Yesterday (Thursday 6/22), Guillen was fined, suspended, and ordered to attend sensitivity training for slurs against Chicago Sun-Times columnist Jay Mariotti.  More on that later.

An exciting four-game sweep

It isn't very often that a four-game sweep can be called exciting, but the 2005 World Series had a lot of excitement packed into a short series. Extra innings, timely hits, great defense, tough pitching, big home runs from unlikely sources... this was a series that should have gone the distance just for the possibility of further drama.

Mark Buehrle pitched an absolute gem for the White Sox on Wednesday night, going 9 innings and giving up only 1 run. Unfortunately, that's the last thing that anyone will remember about game 2 of the 2005 ALCS.
