For the past 8 months college football analyst and sport lovers around the world have come to known the Bosie State Football Program of 2006-2007 as David (refering to the bible story of david vs goliath). And its finally getting too much for me because why was their win against Oaklahoma such an upset? You look at that Bronco team and they were solid all around. Good quaterback in Zabransky who was made to be even better by good all around recievers. Ian Johnson could bust out of tackles at will but most of the time that was irrelvant as his offensive line was able to open holes for him to dance on through. Granted they are from the WAC, which is typically not known for powerhouse teams. But was their win against a good Oaklahoma team an upset? On paper, not really. In terms of ability, nah it was pretty much a draw. But because they came out of nowhere and a pretty much unknown conference, people made this big deal that a much weaker team came through and beat a prennial powerhouse. Kudos for pulling the statue of liberty. They were a very good team. In no way were they david in a david vs goliath setting. Would it be so surprising if say Hawaii, another team from a subpar conference, this year runs the table? My bold prediction of the year is Penn State and Hawaii will play for the National Championship. Its gonna happen, and hopefully American wont have a bad case of david vs goliath syndrome again.
