Proposed Realignment in NHL

The NHL has announced a plan to go back into the future by bringing back four team divisions based on their time zones. For example, Colorado, Calgary, and Los Angels would all be in the same division because they are Mountain and Pacific Time zones. There would still be eight teams per conference making the playoffs, with the top two divisional finishers per division getting the top four seeds, and the other four seeds given to “wild card” teams. How would the playoffs look this year?

NHL True or False

The season is only a little less then a quarter over. However, that still doesn’t stop the crazy rumors from flying around, especially while Larry Brooks somehow finds himself still employed. It’s time to either prove or debunk these rumors, with a little true or false.

Wild and Wacky NHL Draft Trades

Draft time has come in the NHL. Yesterday saw many deals, many surprises, and many, for lack of a better term, moments during the draft. For example, Edmonton’s phone would not stop ringing yesterday due to the news of Chris Pronger. Pronger apparently wants a trade, and again this is just rumored, because his wife thinks it’s too cold in Edmonton, and wants to move to a warmer climate.

Just when I think my world as a Philadelphia fan can’t get any more dismal, some Philadelphia team shakes things up by placing themselves eleven games out of the division lead, blowing it in the playoffs, not making the playoffs, or spending more time arguing with a crazy wide receiver, than playing the actual game.
