It's that time once again, time for teams to either rebuild or destroy their franchise's future. Though the true meddle and talent of a draft class needs about five years to truly be measured, I think I can pick out about ten players that I believe won't measure up to what they're expected to be. But who knows... (1538 words in story) Full Story By MJOneill, Section NFL
A perfect season riding on a single, crowing game ultimately ruined... by a fancy, red, short-sleeved hoodie worn by head coach Bill Belichick. (1 comment, 526 words in story) Full Story By YankTank, Section Journals
"Be ready to be surprised." That was one of the tenets of Loesje, a Dutch organization for creative thinking and positive energy. And naturally there's no better way to launch into an NFL bit than call on the wisdom of modern-day hippies from the Netherlands. At least that's what my grandfather always said. I had the good fortune of watching the last two New York Giants games in the company of a young lady who can only be described as "heavenly", by virtue of us both being invited to watch the contests at the apartment of a mutual friend. Playoff football is not a conducive atmosphere to get to know someone, so I have every intention of asking her out for a cup of coffee the day after Super Bowl 42. In many ways, the Conference Championship weekend is much much better than the Super Bowl itself. Usually we get great games. However according to vegas this year, it's not looking so great. We'll see if NE can cover those 14 points and if the Packers can cover the 7.

Does your football team suck? I'm a Patriots fan, so my team doesn't, but don't worry, I've been in your shoes before. Remember, in the 90's Boston fans were just a bunch of miserable losers. You hang on to hope until you hear that tragic death sentence: "mathematically eliminated." You love the draft because your team finally gets to be number 1. You go to church and pray for the starting QB to get hurt, because it can't get any worse. They're down 21-0 at halftime and you start rooting for the other team. You buy a Drew Bledsoe voodoo doll, and curse his name every chance you get. Your head coach refers to your top wide receiver as "she". You say, "I swear on everything holy, if he says Ben "Winter" Coates one more time, I'm going to go down to Bristol and strangle him with my bare hands!" They let Curtis Martin go to the Jets?!?!? Yes, I have felt your pain. (4 comments, 2317 words in story) Full Story By Editor, Section NFL
Now the real fun begins. Remembering that the home team, the ones with the bye, win an overwhelming majority of the games in this round, we try to spot the one upset that might happen this weekend. Based on the lines from Vegas, that seems unlikely. Check out what Ryan, Billy, and Vin have to say about this week's games.

Desmond Reed's head-over-heels flip into the endzone for USC in the Rose Bowl, and subsequent celebration, drew a fifteen yard unsportsmanlike penalty and the token ire of Pete Carroll. But what if it didn't? What if blatant self-aggrandizing meant the difference between a win and a loss? An extra extra point. (3 comments, 519 words in story) Full Story By Editor, Section NFL
