The 2007 Yankees season is in the books after the disappointing loss in the ALDS against the Indians. To keep the book analogy going, we may have seen the final chapter in the saga that has been the Yankees under Joe Torre, if George Steinbrenner's comments hold true that is. There are many questions to be asked when it comes to where the Yankees go from here.

    Just a few days ago, spring training began in baseball when first the pitchers and catchers then the rest of the players showed up in camp and started to work out for the 2007 season. Great, I'm already excited about the weather getting warmer (gotta love nice spring days on a college campus-girl's shorts get shorter ever year) as well as baseball getting going. But then we get drama worthy of a high school cafeteria out of New York where A-Rod has said his friendship with Derek Jeter has "cooled". Honestly, guys, just can it.

 Intellectuals often complain about the double standard athletes are granted in society. Professional players lose their distinction as citizens, American Royalty. However, many never stop to consider the treacherous position this circumstance drops our sports stars into. An individual can become easily entrapped in celebrity, and those who maintain their character in our cutthroat culture deserve to be commended for their courage, and conviction.

I am sure you are already well aware, but the frustration level of your performance on the baseball diamond has reached an all time high. I am not here to remind you yet again of your 0-10 performance the last two games in Anaheim, which includes seven strikeouts. Instead, please think of this as a simple form of motivation.
