If only the Beers put up the same resistance that the French  put up to the Germans in 1940, the score might have been closer.

The weather was a beautiful 65 degrees at the drop of the puck, but the floods arrived shortly after the opening faceoff.

The Bad News Beers dropped their second straight game, 12-4 to Unified Germany to fall to 0-2, good for last place in the Adult 'D' North League Sunday morning. Goaltender Pat M. couldn't recover from letting in three Unified goals on the first three shots he faced. Well, facing them would have been an improvement instead of fishing them out of his net.

"Sorry I f'd that up in the first period," Pat told his team after the game.

Pat wasn't completely at fault, (he also played in an earlier game)as the team defense took awhile to adjust to the Germans speed (it would be dick-ish to call it a "Blitzkrieg" and I'll stop with the tasteless WWII references). And when I say awhile, I mean like, it hasn't happened yet.

The lone bright spot for the Beers was a three-point morning from Julie, who, despite being a chick, scored twice and added an assist on a nice pass to Paul who buried it from the slot. No word on whether he got to bury it in her slot after the game. Whoa! I kid, kids, I kid. Julie was awesome and I pray she plays for our BS outfit all year.

The worst player on the team, hands down, was Bobby Warner, who blew wind and ass the whole game. The "Captain" was held pointless for the second straight game, registered one shot on goal (ignoring a wide open Jimmy parked on the doorstep), and was about a minus-9.

"Why do I always feel like throwing up?" a beleaguered Warner told nobody in particular.

Hopefully for Warner, God was listening. I'll put a buck on it that he was laughing his Holy Ass off, too.

The yucks continue May 29 at 9:30 PM when the Beers take on Creeping Death. Seriously, there's a team called Creeping Death?

Say what you want about this league, but don't say it isn't metal as !!!
