Scary to think about

When I heard the news of Randy Walker's death this morning on ESPN I was stunned, as probably were most people.

Being a Penn State fan I know the Big Ten and its coaches better than most people. Randy Walker was only 52 years old. 52. JoePa is 79. My Dad is working on 50.

It's a scary situation to think about. Some of you may be the same age or close to that of Walker. I don't know exactly what the cause of his apparent heart attack was, but I can almost guarantee there was something more then his lifestyle that contributed. Whether it was hereditary, excessive eating and/or drinking, or anything else that can trigger heart attacks, for those of you who are older take the time to get a check-up with your doctor and make sure what happened to Randy Walker doesn't happen to you.

While no one knows exactly when or if a heart attack will happen, there are things you can do as a person to help prevent them. For the sake of your family and friends do all you can to take care of yourself.

It has been a rough week in the sports world. First Peter Gammon's and now Walker. While it looks like Gammon's will recover as of now, Walker is gone. My deepest sympathies go out to the family members of the Walker family and the whole Northwestern University.

Its a pity that happened. Randy Walker was such a great guy. From what i read and heard his players loved him and he was beloved by not only the Northwestern campus but the entire nation as well. It is sad when ever the world loses someone. It goes to show you life is worth living to until the end.

                               Utmost respect,
                                     Happy Valley
