Seeing has how Vince Young failed it and is now one of the lead candidates for Rookie of the Year, should they just dump the test since it's obvious that it doesn't prove diddly squat about the player being tested?

Thats a misnomer... (#1)

Actually, the Wonderlic is a "career assesment test" that just basicly tests your decision making skills. It's like the SAT, there is no passing or failing. The highest possible score is a 50...Dan Marino scored a 16 for example. Here's a good site to explain it. http://www.angelfire.com/fl3/existence/wonderlic.html I think it can be a useful tool in lower round players, or at risk players...

I think it's useful (#2)

it's just one of many factors in determining how good a player will be.  While Vince Young did fail the hell out of it (didn't he get a 7?) he has other gifts that more than compensate for his lack of mental acuity.... kinda like the dumb girl with big guns.

Anyway, I think it helps scouts decide and while it does not 100% correlate with future QB performance, I'd personally prefer a "smarter" QB all things being (relatively) equal.

Young scored a 6. Which is almost impossible for someone with a desent college education.

Here's some other QB scores...

Donovan McNabb 12

Jeff George 10

Kordell Stewart 12

Ryan Fitspatrick 50 (well...he did go to Harvard.)

J.P. Lossman scored a 14 on the first try, then nailed a 30.

People also forget that Frank Gore got a 6 as well.

So, you can see, this test just isn't accurate, but it can still be a good measure for the at-risk players.
