OK folks, it's coming down to the wire which means there's only a few weeks left to win your office pool's weekly prize and, more importantly, the overall season prize. Check out the Week 15 picks below if you need some help beating the idiot guy in your office who talks too much trash and loves the Cowboys even though he lives in New Jersey. If you want to see how we stack up against all the experts, check out a very nifty expert picks compilation spreadsheet by our buddy Tokar. The featured games for week 15 are Dallas @ Atlanta, Philly @ NY Giants, Kansas City @ Chargers, and Cincinnati @ Indy. Week 15 Picks
[Editor's Note: This year, we're making the Locks of the Week a little more interesting as we have a side bet amongst the four experts. The person with the most money at the end of the year in Locks betting takes home all the money. Disclaimer: The amounts discussed are for illustrative and entertainment purposes only. Gambling may be illegal in your locale.] Vegas Vinny: Dallas got absolutely whooped last week. A team that most people were calling the best in the NFC got outcoached, outplayed and embarassed by the Saints at home. Don't expect a repeat of that performance against the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons might be on a two game winning streak but those two wins were against the Redskins and the Bucs. 7 of their 17 points last week came on a play where Bruce Gradkowski fumbles and half the Bucs decide they don't want to cover up and Demorrio Williams returned it for a TD. The Cowboys will use DeMarcus Ware to contain Michael Vick and Tony Romo gets back on track against a defense ranked 31st against the pass. This is an easy easy win for the Cowboys. I'm putting $110 to win $100 on the Cowboys (-3). (Balance = $950) BostonMac: I am certainly jumping off the 49ers bandwagon. After being an ATM for me for a few weeks, they just as quickly turned the corner and became highway robbers on my wallet. Here are five reasons to take the Bills against the Dolphins this week: (1) It is a well-known fact in the NFL that warm-weather teams have difficulty winning in cold-weather cities in December. (2) The Dolphins are screaming LETDOWN GAME after their 21-0 pasting of the Patriots at home last weekend. (3) This is a hard-fought divisional matchup between two ancient rivals in which anything can happen. (4) The Dolphins might be a flavor of the week right now, but they are still streakier than Frank the Tank after a “Golf Pro’s and Tennis Ho’s” party. (Not a great simile, I know.) (5) It’s still Joey Harrington on the road in December. No reason not to take Buffalo, especially when giving only one point which makes this essentially a pick-em. $220 on the Bills (-1) to win $200. (Balance = $900) Trevor F: There is one general rule that I always follow when picking a game. Anytime there is a lively home underdog, take them without hesitation. Right the Tennessee Titans are playing great football. In fact, if they were in the NFC, they would have a chance of getting to the Super Bowl. Vince Young has been amazing. This year's Rookie of the Year race will probably be the tightest in recent memory as Young, Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart, Devin Hester and Marques Colston can all make a very good case. I cannot believe the Titans are getting 3.5 points at home against Jacksonville. The Jags are schizophrenic. I know they beat the Colts last week, but that's even more the reason to pick against them this week. I'm taking the Titans at home. I think Tennessee wins the game. Worst case scenario.....the half point buys you the backdoor cover. $55 on the Titans (+3.5) to win $50. (Balance = $1175)
RJ Warner: I've got nothing this week. The Colts thoroughly emabarrased me and made me question my football existence by getting run out of the state of Florida. I'm almost broke and begging for change so I can get my week 16 and 17 bets in. That being said, I think it's safe to say the Chiefs, who are fighting for a playoff spot, are desperate. The Chargers have already clinched their division. LT already has the touchdown record. They are the best team in the NFL right now, so they will beat the Chiefs on talent alone. But the 9 points they are giving to a team that will throw everything at them is a little excessive. KC should cover this one rather easily, if not win outright. $55 to win $50 says I'm right. (Balance = $185)
