I showed you guys some love this week. Note, the Power Rankings are completed before Tuesday’s games.

1(1) 11-2 Matrix won the player of the week award right
after Amare Stoudamire won it the week before.
I guess that’s what happens when a team is hot.
2(3) 13-2 The Sonics are shooting a league leading 40%
from the 3 pt. Line. Unimpressed? They also lead
the league in 3’s taken with 316.
3(4) 11-3 Defense, Defense, Defense. Yeah, the Spurs
are good, but man are they boring.
4(5) 8-5 As they proved in Sacramento, the T’Wolves
can be very good when the Big Ticket has some
help.
5(7) 10-5 Lets talk about depth. The Mavs have a backup
coach? Now that’s depth. Good luck Avery
Johnson.
6(9) 8-5 Believe it or not, but the run and gun Kings avg.
the fewest turnovers in the league.
7(2) 10-5 The Heat should be pulling away from the East.
Except for the fact that they are 1-4 against
the Western Conference.
8(10) 10-4 Gotta love the depleted Pacers. They are not
going down without a fight. Pun intended.
9(11) 8-6 Last week I said the Lakers had to beat the Kings
to crack the Top 10. I guess I lied.
10(13) 9-5 Coach Dunleavy said, “You treat Lebron pretty
much the way you would treat a Kobe Bryant”.
No arguments here.
11(19) 9-6 The Clippers have won 4 in row. I am not
completely sold on them yet. We will know if they
are for real Saturday vs. the T’Wolves.
12(8) 8-5 I don’t care if it was a revenge game for
Doc Rivers. The Magic have no business getting
smoked by the Celtics at home. None.
13(14) 8-6 Carmelo vs. Lebron is Thursday. How many Bird
vs. Magic comparisons will we have to hear?
14(6) 8-6 That was a steep drop for the Jazz. But they
lost to Bulls and AK-47 is out for a couple weeks.
It could get worse.
15(21) 7-5 The Wizards are averaging 102.9 Not bad.
Good enough for #2 in the NBA. They are giving
up 102.8. That’s bad.
16(12) 6-7 Ben Wallace suspension ends Friday night.
Just in time to defend Tim Duncan. Welcome
Back.
17(22) 6-6 The Knicks are 5-1 at home, while on the road
they are a sad 1-5. Fix that, and they could run
away with the division.
18(20) 7-6 The Northwest is ridiculous. The Blazers could
win 50 games this year and still be at the
bottom of their division.
19(24) 6-7 On the flipside, Philly could win 50 games and
take their division.
20(15) 5-8 The Red Sox won. The Pats continue to win.
There wont be a lot of grumbling about the Celts till
the Pats are finished. Then watch the mob…
21(16) 6-9 Houston, we have a rebounding problem. Team
rebounding leader Yao Ming is averaging 7.7
boards per game. Nuff said.
22(18) 6-9 The Raptors are 1-7 on the road so far this year.
Oh and tonight they begin a 6 game road trip.
This could get ugly.
23(17) 5-9 Just when things started to go right they lose 3
straight. As long as they are below .500, they
can’t afford to lose 3 straight again.
24(23) 4-7 I was just about to give my “Michael Redd is
next” speech. That is until Kobe LOCKED him
down in LA. Lets see if he is ready for Kobe tonight.
25(27) 3-9 These guys aren’t that bad. Theyre the best
expansion team since….Wait, who was the last
expansion team?
26(26) 3-10 Here is a positive note. Mathematically, this team
is still in the playoff hunt. That’s all…moving on.
27(25) 2-11 Twenty bucks for the 1st person do describe a
highlight from a recent Hawk game. The clock is
ticking.
28(26) 2-11 9 game losing streak. Maybe they can shake
things up and throw a couple punches at some
fans. It worked for Pacers.
29(28) 1-12 To make a comment, I require a fully operational
team within the NBA. With that being said, “No
Comment”.
30(30) 1-10 Around this time every season we start to think
the Bulls next season looks promising. Times have
changed. They’ll stink next season too.
