and you're right, people did turn their heads the other way cause there is no better sports sight and no better sports phenomenon then the home run in baseball. that era, the mid 90's to early 00's, it was just unbelievable the amount of homers that were hit and further more, how far some of them were hit.

but it wasn't just hitters and everyday players, pitchers did it too. sure, the whole steroids thing was shocking to all when it first became known to the public, but it shouldn't be like that anymore. as a baseball fan, if you seriously believe clemens or bonds or any of them DIDN'T do steroids at any point in their career then you are just in denial. the saying has never fit better, "if you ain't cheatin' you ain't tryin." when a professional athlete competes at the levels in which they do, it's almost impossible, like goose has been saying, to not give into the temptations. a player wants to get better, they want to come back from injuries quicker, they want to prolong their careers, but most importantly they want to succeed as much as possible. steroids sure did help.

and it's not just baseball, lets be serious again here.. tiki barber used to squat over 1000 pounds consitently. he's a hard worker i'm sure, as are all professional athletes, but those inhumanly things are what should be the first clue.
