Durant (#6)
by Mark Cunningham on Wed Jan 17 2007 at 11:33 PM EST
Durant played his high school ball about an hour from where I live in Maryland, so I read all about him and people raved like crazy. I was impressed when he committed to Texas, but I NEVER imagined he would be this good, this soon. I wish I had taken the opportunity to see him in person. I'm going to be mad once he becomes an NBA MVP and hall of famer.

Durant (#7)

Sometimes you hear the hype and you just think it is overblown.  In Durant's case, I now believe he is not getting enough of it.  He is ridiculous.  Durant is much better than KG was at the same age.  He can do everything KG can do except he has a better jump shot.  I also think Durant gets off the floor quicker when he goes up to rebound and get put-backs.

In terms of great college freshman I think you may have to go all the way back to an Isiah Thomas to find one that was as good as Durant has been.
