Not Miami's Time, yet.... (#1)

I love these prediction articles because it causes reason to debate.  I can agree with almost all of your other picks, however, the Dolphins are not primed to take the Pats over yet.  Being a Pats fan, and enjoying the luster of the past few seasons, I am not looking forward to the day when the Pats don't finish in first.  However, I'd rather see the Dolphins do it rather than the Bills or Jets.
I can understand why people like the 'Phins this year, since they closed out with 6 W's in a row last season, and now they have Daunte Culpepper.  But, let's not forget, those six wins were against Oak (4-12), Buf (5-11), SD (9-7), NYJ (4-12), Ten (4-12) and NE by two points.  They all have a combined record of 36-60.  The only two teams with winning records were SD and NE (10-6).  Their 7 losses came against NYJ, BUF, TB, KC, ATL, NE, and a 22-0 drubbing at the hands of Cleveland.  The Dolphins are on the rise, but if they can't beat the weaker AFC teams, they will not hike to the top of the hill this year.

about the 6 wins against JV squads.  The only defense I have is that I believe the Dolphins had a JV QB last year.  Culpepper isn't my favorite QB in the world but he's much better than Sage Rosenfels.  I think it'll be a very interesting race.  I gave the Dolphins the edge based on a slightly easier schedule (against easier teams in my mind)  but Ryan took a look at the same schedule and saw 12-13 wins for the Patriots.

Check out the podcast.
