Thanks, Vin. I wish we had a contest then! Haha, but to defend my picks, I chose Izturis, not Nomar because the Dodgers signed Furcal in the offseason to replace Izturis. They didn't know if he'd be back, and I don't think they had much faith in his ability if they signed Furcal to a three-year deal. I like that Izturis recoverred from his injury, is playing well AND is playing a new position/playing at all considering the circumstances.

You're right though, I think that Nomar would be the more conventional pick. But, I tried to think about all the different candidates for each award instead of just automatically putting down the big name that came to mind.
