I am disappointed that Rafael Palmeiro was the first big-name guy to be caught. I wish I could believe what he says about not wanting to risk everything he had accomplished, and that he didn't know he was taking it, but I really can't. That has been the default excuse for everybody so far. I had tremendous respect for Palmeiro, and I would like to still feel like I can watch him play without being disgusted but it'll be hard now that his past credentials are going to be called into question. I will pray for the baseball gods to rule Palmeiro innocent, but until then he is a negative influence on the game. I agree that it is a good thing for baseball, but it would have been better if it wasn't such a cool, humble, nice big name guy. It would've been 10 times better for baseball if Sosa or Bonds had been caught. Oh, by the way good article.
