Sometimes I Sit and Think

The Guru’s Inner Most Thoughts about Sports and Stuff…

A lot of things have been going in and outside the world of sports here lately.  And I haven’t had the opportunity to weigh in on much of them due to my lack of time.  But SportsColumn has been too good to me for me just leave you guys hanging.  So here are some of the things I’ve been sitting and thinking about…Sometimes I sit and think… someone needs to tell "Pacman" Jones about the difference between "friends" and "people who get you kicked out the league".

Sometimes I sit and think… if you’re willing to ride something that is called a "crotch rocket" or a "screaming metal death trap", my sympathy for you is thrown right out the window, or should I say thrown right over the front… (Sorry LaVar)

Sometimes I sit and think… who’s the bigger publicity junkie?  The director from The Sopranos with his version of "fade to black" or Vince McMahon with his rendition of Makaveli?

Sometimes I sit and think… the NBA is probably the best professional sports league we have today.

Sometimes I sit and think… the NBA is probably the worst professional sports league we have today.

Sometimes I sit and think… Tim Duncan could very well be one of the best players my generation has ever been able to watch first hand.  But his lack of ink, commercials, and technical fouls leaves him to go unappreciated.

Sometimes I sit and think… which is the real Cleveland Cavs?  The ones who exposed the Pistons in the conference finals?  Or the ones who got shellacked by the Spurs in the finals?

Sometimes I sit and think… Daniel Gibson needs to rethink the whole "Boobie" thing. (See James "Boobie" Miles – Friday Night Lights)

Sometimes I sit and think… maybe "Boobie" isn’t such a bad nickname after all.  (See any woman)

Sometimes I sit and think… LeBron James could learn a thing or two from the likes of Dwyane Wade, Vince Carter, and Jason Richardson… The location of the “Jump Shot Yard Sale"…

Sometimes I sit and think… The Lakers are ruining some of the greatest years of Kobe’s career.

Sometimes I sit and think… Kobe needs to just shut up and play and trust the front office will do right and bring in some better talent to put around him.

Sometimes I sit and think… how can the Lakers make a trade with the Bulls for Kobe?  (It can’t work; I tried it out with an expert NBA trade tool… Season mode on NBA 2K7)

Sometimes I sit and think… Chris Mullin is still laughing hysterically at the Pacers for giving him Stephen Jackson and Al Harrington.

Sometimes I sit and think… Paris Hilton’s three day stint in the big house subliminally showed us once again why other countries can’t stand us.

Sometimes I sit and think… If my paper ever asked me to cover a NASCAR or Indy Car event I would go all "Tank Johnson" on their *#%@!

Sometimes I sit and think… if the Chi-Town Cubs showed that kind of fighting spirit on the field, they’d probably…well…be right where they are now…

Sometimes I sit and think… about one of my favorite movie lines of all time whenever I watch A-Rod and the Yankees play now.

Claude Banks – "Yankees on fire…"
Ray Gibson – "Kicking butt!"

(Life – Martin Lawrence & Eddie Murphy)

Sometimes I sit and think… why isn’t "Air Force Amy" in the "Women We Love Poll".  (That ones for Trevor and IUfan62… *wink*)

Sometimes I sit and think… does anybody care about the WNBA?

Sometimes I sit and think… Probably not…

Sometimes I sit and think… is anybody reading this stuff?

One reply on “Sometimes I Sit and Think”

a swing and a miss these types of articles only survive or get posted if they do what they are intended to do, and make us re-think our own opinions, or better, make us laugh. nothing you said was overly imaginitve or creative, and I found it to be pretty elementary.

I’ll write something like this in the future to show you what I mean-how I felt these should be written/presented. I’m not saying I’ll do better, or that I’m funny and you’re not. I am merely saying that this particular article did nothing for me and isn’t worth being read again.

nice try at your own take of the “this is what I think I think…”
